How to Get There
What to Expect
Drive, Chip and Putt is open to boys and girls ages 7-15. Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9 years old; 10-11 years old; 12-13 years old; and 14-15 years old.
Competition Overview
- Each participant will compete in all three skills (Drive, Chip and Putt).
- Participants will attempt three shots per skill, for a total of nine shots. Participants accumulate points per shot in all three skills.
- The champion in each individual skill competition will be determined by the participant with the most points accumulated in that particular skill.
- The overall champion in each age category will be determined by the participant with the most points accumulated between all three skills.
Drive Skill
- Each participant will attempt three drives from the same teeing area.
- All drives will be played to a 40-yard wide grid and the ball must come to rest in the grid to score points.
Chip Skill
- Each participant will attempt three chips from the same location approximately 10-15 yards from the hole.
- All chips will be measured and scored from the center of the hole with lines clearly marking the scoring rings.
Putt Skill
- Each participant will attempt three total putts, with one attempt from each of the following distances: 6’, 15’ and 30’.
- All putts will be measured and scored from the center of the hole with lines clearly marking the scoring rings.
Awards
- Prizes will be awarded to individual skill champions as well as overall champions for boys and girls in each age category.
Tee Times and Additional Information
- Tee times and any additional information needed for the qualifier will be shared via email communication after the close of registration.
Valhalla Golf Club
Attendee Reminder
Valhalla Golf Club is graciously hosting us and we ask that all attendees (participants + spectators) abide by certain guidelines to honor their requests. We ask that all attendees wear proper golf attire while on property. When inside the clubhouse, we ask that gentlemen remove their hats. The golf professional shop will be open for the ability to purchase merchandise after completion of your participant's competition. The restaurant will be open for food and beverage purchase as well. Please take in the beautiful sights and Championship history out on display inside the clubhouse!
On Site Practice Facilities
Drive Station Warm-Up Schedule
Due to limited space, each Age Division will be allocated 30 minutes to practice on the driving range. We want to ensure each participant has the ability to warm up for the competition, so we ask that you please respect this schedule. This ONLY applies to the driving range - you are welcome to practice chipping and putting on the practice areas as much as you would like!
Here is the Drive Warm-Up Schedule:
Boys 14-15: 7:15 am - 7:45 am
Girls 14-15: 7:45 am - 8:15 am
Boys 12-13: 8:15 am - 8:45 am
Girls 12-13: 8:45 am - 9:15 am
Boys 10-11: 9:15 am - 9:45 am
Girls 10-11: 9:45 am - 10:15 am
Boys 7-9: 10:15 am - 10:45 am
Girls 7-9: 10:45 am - 11:15 am
Day of Information
Logistics for Arrival
When you arrive on site, there will be signs directing you to the correct parking lot. Once you park, shuttles will give you a ride to the practice facilities where you will head straight to Registration. Once you check in, you are free to utilize the practice facilities. Please remember to be at the Drive station AT LEAST 5 MINUTES BEFORE your scheduled Tee Time. As a reminder, the order of play will be DRIVE, PUTT and then CHIP. The Chip will replicate Xander Schauffele's chip on 18 at last year's PGA Championship, by being in the same spot but modified to fit our yardage!

For those of you who are arriving from out of town and looking for a place to practice ahead of the qualifier, here are a few public facilities in the area that are close to Valhalla:

The Drive, Chip and Putt Executive Committee, its agents and subordinate organizers, reserve the right to make rulings and recommendations regarding the Drive, Chip and Putt competition.
