How to Get There
What to Expect
Drive, Chip and Putt is open to boys and girls ages 7-15. Boys and girls will compete in separate divisions in four age categories: 7-9 years old; 10-11 years old; 12-13 years old; and 14-15 years old.
Competition Overview
- Each participant will compete in all three skills (Drive, Chip and Putt).
- Participants will attempt three shots per skill, for a total of nine shots. Participants accumulate points per shot in all three skills.
- The champion in each individual skill competition will be determined by the participant with the most points accumulated in that particular skill.
- The overall champion in each age category will be determined by the participant with the most points accumulated between all three skills.
Drive Skill
- Each participant will attempt three drives from the same teeing area.
- All drives will be played to a 40-yard wide grid and the ball must come to rest in the grid to score points.
Chip Skill
- Each participant will attempt three chips from the same location approximately 10-15 yards from the hole.
- All chips will be measured and scored from the center of the hole with lines clearly marking the scoring rings.
Putt Skill
- Each participant will attempt three total putts, with one attempt from each of the following distances: 6’, 15’ and 30’.
- All putts will be measured and scored from the center of the hole with lines clearly marking the scoring rings.
Awards
- Prizes will be awarded to individual skill champions as well as overall champions for boys and girls in each age category.
Tee Times and Additional Information
- Tee times and any additional information needed for the qualifier will be shared via email communication after the close of registration.
Edmundson Golf Course
Sunday, June 18
Upon arrival, check-in near the pro shop entrance. You may purchase a range token inside; then, you will need to drive across the street to the driving range located at Harvest Point GC if you would like to hit some balls. Please allow for plenty of time to get checked in, purchase a range token, drive across the street, and then come back to be at the driving station 5 minutes prior to your tee time. Chipping and putting warm-up will be available at Edmundson near the putting and chipping stations.
The Driving Station will be located on hole #1, the chipping hole #9, and the putting station on #7 green. Participants are not to practice at competition stations.
Participants need to check-in at the registration table upon arrival– first thing. You will receive your scorecard and information on the competition. You will be given a short amount of time (30 minutes) to warm up before you are expected to be at the Driving Station 5 minutes prior to your tee time. The driving station is located on #1 tee box. The rotation schedule will be drive, chip, then putt.
Participants will need to purchase a range token at the pro shop and then drive across the street to warm up. Putting and Chipping warm-up will be available at Edmundson GC. Participants are not to practice in contest areas. You may use your own balls and clubs, or some will be provided for you. Retrieval of the golf balls used for the driving contest is not guaranteed.

Awards will be provided once everyone in a division has finished. You are also encouraged to see results at
www.Drivechipandputt.com. The top 2 in each division will advance on to sub-regional play on August 20th at Glen Oaks CC in W. Des Moines.
Rules
The Drive, Chip and Putt Executive Committee, its agents and subordinate organizers, reserve the right to make rulings and recommendations regarding the Drive, Chip and Putt competition.
