Event Details

Welcome to the 2022 Drive, Chip, and Putt Sub-regional event. We look forward to seeing everyone out at Cleveland Country Club on August 21st. The following will provide you with some detail pertaining to the event. Please take extra time to look over this information.

Confirmation of Attendance: Please confirm you are planning to attend this event ASAP. We have alternates who would be happy to move into any unfilled position. You can confirm attendance by simply replying to this email or reaching out to Paul Stanek: pstanek@pgahq.com

Registration & Starting Times: Starting times are available on the Drive Chip, & Putt website or by clicking here. I have also attached a PDF Version if you are unable access the link provided. Please arrive no less than 30 minutes prior to your starting time for Registration. Registration will be located behind the clubhouse.  Your child must register before competing.  Your child must compete when their name is called.  Please arrive to the driving area at least 10 minutes before your tee time.

Skills:  The order of competition will be DRIVE – PUTT – CHIP. Drive Skill will be competed on Hole 16. For all age groups the Putt Skill competition is conducted on Hole 16 Green, the Chip Skill be competed on Hole 17 Green. Once you have completed a skill you must immediately go to the next station.  Each player will be given a starting time for their first skill.

Scoring:  Each player will receive a scorecard at their first skill station.  Competitors will receive points based on 3 attempts at each station. Those scores are added for a Total Points score.  The three Total Points scores are added to the OVERALL SCORE for the competition.  Once you have completed all three skills, you must turn in your scorecard immediately to the scoring area located on the back patio or the clubhouse. Once you have turned in your scorecard and signed it, your score is final.  Please check over your score carefully.

Tiebreak Procedure:  In the event of ties the following tie break procedure is used.

BY SKILL – Point value of third ball, then second ball, then first ball.  If still the same; the skill place is shared.

OVERALL & QUALIFYING SPOTS – Decided by putting rank, then chipping rank, and then driving rank.  If still tied, it will go to tiebreaker by skill.  If still tied, both participants will advance.

Practice prior to Event Date:  Please respect the fact that Cleveland Country Club is a private facility. Practice will not be allowed at Cleveland Country Club prior to the event date of Sunday, August 21st.

Warm-up:  The facility’s practice areas will be open to participants on the day of the competition for all warmups. Please note, this will be available starting at 8:00AM and we ask that you show up no more than an hour prior to contestant’s tee time as space is limited. Individuals with earlier tee times will be given priority over those with later tee times. There will be roped off areas for participants to use. Non-roped areas will be for member use only.

Qualifying:  Subregional Qualifier: 2 juniors in each age/gender category from this site will advance to the Regional competition.  Proof of age MUST be provided before competing in the Regional Event. This will be done through the online portal and be communicated to you separately for those who qualify. Tee times will be released approximately one week prior to the event. The Regional Qualifier for this event is at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, September 10th

Weather: Drive, Chip & Putt is a rain or shine event. The staff on site will monitor the weather closely if any inclement weather moves in on the day of the event. In the event of inclement weather, we will do everything possible to ensure the completion of the Subregional Qualifier on the date scheduled. Delay of tee times for lightning, torrential downpour or other inclement weather situations may occur, but note we will continue with play if it is simply raining.

Equipment:  Range balls will be provided by the facility, or you can bring your own golf balls with you.  Please note: If you use your own golf balls on the drive portion of the competition, YOU WILL NOT be able to retrieve them.

Advice/Coaching:  Once a player begins the competition, they will compete without any advice or coaching from anyone.  At no point may advice be given to a participant who has started the competition. Advice/Coaching does not include encouragement or short words of affirmation. There is no tolerance for anyone who gives Advice or Coaching and those individuals will be asked to leave.

Pace of Play & Safety:  Please follow instructions of all staff/volunteer members to ensure proper pace of play & safety.

Awards Ceremony: PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL AFTER THE AWARDS CEREMONY.

A short awards ceremony to announce the top 2 overall qualifiers and skill ranks will take place after EACH age/gender category, once scoring is complete for the age/gender category. Medals are given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd in each skill and OVERALL top point winners. This will take place at the Scoreboard behind 18 green. Results will also be  posted here at the completion of the event.
