It’s always a blast to watch our game’s biggest stars emerge in the brightest moments, both on the PGA and LPGA Tour.
You may be reading this and think, “Um, I can’t crush 390-yard drives like Bryson or make major-championship clinching putts a la Collin, how does this relate to me?”
Well, think about this way: What are some ways you can transfer what Bryson and Collin did to your own game? How can you be ready for the biggest moment when it calls your name? What’s stopping you from taking first place in your next Drive, Chip & Putt competition?
Let’s start with these tips:

1) Own Your Game. Bryson DeChambeau did this at Winged Foot; Collin Morikawa did at TPC Harding Park. They played to their strengths, and were confident in their abilities. Remember that as you practice during these next few months, and don’t forget it when you step into your next competition. Only you have the power to play your best!

2) Remember How Big the Basics Are to Your Success. Sometimes when we’re away from the course for a bit, we lose sight of the fundamentals. You know, alignment, stance, grip, posture — those basics we all love to hate! Two people that didn’t forget the basics, however, were Bryson and Collin during the biggest wins of their lives. Check-in with how your fundamentals are today, tomorrow or next week. They’re the foundation to a winning formula.

3) Work on Your Focus. It’s easy to get distracted by the moment. Think about Collin Morikawa in a multi-person race to the finish at the PGA Championship, or Bryson DeChambeau fending off his pursuers. Neither of them let the moment get to their heads because they were focused on one goal: winning. Try focusing on one “task” each day, and don’t rest until it’s completed. If you meet each moment, it won’t matter how big it is — you’ll be ready.
